A new e-voting system

• The ballots - in the form of unencrypted text files - are separated from the voter’s profile.
  Nobody, not even the system’s administrators - or hackers - is able to establish a link between the voter and his/her ballot
  Note : ballots are actually read-only PDFs, enclosing a checksum value based on the previous ballots - same process as in a blockchain. They cannot be modified.
• However the voter - and he/she alone - will still be able to verify that his/her ballot has been registered as submitted, even after vote counting.
• The ballots can be freely distributed and re-counted by recognized observer (political parties, unions, candidates, media, governmental or non-governmental organisations, etc.)
  Frauds are no longer possible

How is this possible?

This is all made possible thanks to the core invention of the system : using a hash function (ie. SHA256, PBKDF2,...) on the choosen key info (ie. National Register Number or ID card number) combined with the password choosen by the voter, then using the result as the name of the ballot file.

Example:
     SHA256( "48.06.18-798.45" + "testpassword" ) = f0f6962153f5c39afb79162303ccfac1a0db7b89ff088ff7bd09b730442b5db6

This value (f0f6962153f5c39afb79162303ccfac1a0db7b89ff088ff7bd09b730442b5db6.PDF) becomes the name of the ballot file.

Hash functions make it impossible to trace back the National Register Number and password used to generate this code. However, entering the correct values will always generate the same code, thus enabling to retrieve the file whenever required.

• E-vote.online works for both remote (internet) voting or polling station voting
• Encryption of the ballots files names (SHA-256) meets National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards

Coercion-Resistant and
Vote-Buying-Resistant e-voting system

e-vote.online is immune to vote buying and coercive voting using the false vote technique.

By giving the elector the opportunity to cast a second - false - vote, he/she will be able to submit to his oppressor a vote corresponding in every respect to his requirements, but which will not be taken into account during the counting of the ballots.

In the same way, purchased votes would also likely not be taken into account when counting the ballots.

It is therefore safe to bet that these practices will cease as soon as their authors will have understood the principle of the false vote included in e-vote.online
